Lemonade berry

Lemonade berry (Rhus integrifolia) constantly impresses me, usually in an understated sort of way, nothing bright and showy, just a sort of stately beauty with its soft pink buds and a functionally tasty berry.  But as I walked by it the other day I was stunned by its bright red new growth.  Possibly seeming more vibrant on the cloudy grey day, recently washed with a rain that seemed a long time in coming.
